Dear Wolverine Families,
Spring has sprung and the snow is beginning to disappear. We welcome the sunshine, longer days, and some of us – mud! While there are plenty of dry spaces to play at school, we notice kids are drawn to the mud. Please consider mud/rain pants for play during the spring and sending a spare set of socks and pants to school, just in case they are needed.
Upcoming this month is our annual Equity Arts Night. We are very proud of the learning the students have engaged in and cannot wait to have you come to see their hard work! Please add April 16th to your calendar!
Included in this month’s newsletter is a recipe book, created by our very own Green Team students. They have included not only delicious recipes, but tips that support positive impacts on climate change and the environment. Be sure to take a look! HT GREEN TEAM RECIPE BOOK.pdf

Safety Tip – Remember to walk on the sidewalks while travelling to and from the front of the school and back of the school. Refrain from going between parked cars in the parking lot.
April is School Fuel Month
Every two weeks, The Sharing Place Food Centre delivers healthy food to 29 schools in Orillia and area, covering half the food cost. This food is served through your school’s student nutrition program, led by dedicated staff and volunteers. You might know it as Breakfast Club, Eat Well, Snack Club, or something similar. The Sharing Place supplies the food. Schools make it happen.
These programs help ensure students have access to healthy food in a welcoming and accessible way. Each April, School Fuel Month recognizes this work and invites community awareness and support to help keep programs like this going.
Learn More About School Fuel
Look out for a School Fuel Month activity sheet coming home with your child. It includes fun food activities, a colouring contest, and information about School Fuel Month.
For those who are able and wish to do so, donations to The Sharing Place Food Centre are matched this April by Orillia Home Hardware, up to $20,000. Community support helps sustain student nutrition programs across our region.
