February 2026 Newsletter
Posted on 01/05/2026

Dear Wolverine Families,

In February we celebrate Black History Month, Valentines Day, and Pink Shirt Day. As part of our whole school learning we will be reading a book, by Laura Obuobi, called, ‘What Love Looks Like’. This is a big concept. Love can be found in quiet moments or big gestures, between family members, friends and oneself. There are different types of love – romantic, sweeping people off their feet love, or familial love, rooting us deeply in our identities. Love is always about connection. We would like every HT family to send in a note that shares what love looks like to your family. Please include family members name(s) and grade(s) on your submission.

Important February Dates:

Feb 5 – Sweater Day

Feb 10 – 13 – Dental Screening

Feb 11-12 – Grade 8 Skilled Trades Workshops

Feb 11 – Raise the Dough Fundraiser – Domino’s Pizza

Feb 12 – Speeches in Gym

Feb 13 – Term 1 Report Cards home

Feb 14 – Valentine’s Day

Feb 16 – Family Day (no school)

Feb 17 – Lunar New Year, Ramadan begins

Wiarton Willy is predicting an early spring – but for now, enjoy the snow (come dressed to play outside) and if there is a snow day, be sure to follow along with what is happening on Google Classroom, snuggle up and read a book on Sora, or do a Knowledgehook mission!

Stay warm,
