January Newsletter 2026

Happy 2026, Wolverines!

December was a flurry of events here at Harriett Todd! We loved performing in the Winter Concert, watching the TLSS bands perform, and caroling. The students also loved shopping for their families at the Gift Gala – we hope you like the treasures they chose for you. Thank you to Mrs. Boehme for organizing the winter concerts and caroling, and to Mrs. Cox for her work on coordinating the Gift Gala. School Council also appreciates the coordinated efforts in putting together the themed baskets for the silent auction.

Our Lost & Found items were on display in the foyer before the break and will remain on display until January 9th. If you are missing coats, snow gear, hoodies, or other clothing items, please come browse the items on display in the front foyer, between 8:30 and 4pm this week, before they are donated to a local charity.

As the snow continues to fall, please send your children to school dressed for the weather. If you need boots, winter coats, snow pants, hats or mittens, please reach out to the school as we have some new items in Wolverine Outfitters, from a generous community donation.

2025/2026 Goals outlined in our School Action and Equity Plan.

  • Greater student achievement and student confidence related to mathematical problem solving in all strands (number sense, algebra, data, spatial sense, financial literacy)
  • All students demonstrate greater writing stamina, can produce written work they are proud of, and growth (relative to self) in their reading abilities
  • Students feel valued for their unique attributes and contributions to the whole school environment
  • Students understand what belonging looks and feels like
  • Students attend school regularly

If you’d like to join in and support these goals at home, please do! Some simple acts are to read daily, play games that involve words, numbers, or problem-solving, and to model and praise kindness. Sora is a digital library - Digital Libraries and Vocabulary - Simcoe County District School Board and there are great Math At Home activities too - Math at Home - Simcoe County District School Board!
